Georgia is the cradle of the remarkable material and cultural monuments, fortresses, castles, temples, national costumes, hymns, folk songs and folk instruments abundantly dispersed throughout the whole country. These are all undisputedly a clear proof of sophisticated culture and spirituality of our ancestors and the index of their high standard of living. Georgian folk songs date back to milleniums. Hymns and folk tunes of “Shen Khar Venakhi”, "Mze Shina”, “Lile”, “Batonebi”, “Mumli Mukhasao”, “Shavlego” could be heard in every single Georgian family. They were dispersed in the bosom of the nation, cherished, and preserved this way. Famous Georgian heroes, renowned statesmen and public figures were brought up on popular “Iavnana” tunes. And today, when we lack and crave for all these so much, when we have almost disregarded and remixed Georgian tunes-the pillar of our culture, ethics, morals and love, it is extremely wonderful to have a National Folk Songs Ensemble named “Adila” in Niko Muskhelishvili State Technical University. |
